A Grand Popular Entertainment of Music, Reading, and Recitations etc was given in the Schoolroom Sibford Gower this evening; doors open at 7. Commenced at 7.30. The Room was fairly well filled but as there had been during the afternoon a sale by auction of T. H. Dixon’s farming stock at “Woodway” many were absent who would otherwise probably have been present. The Programme was as follows:

Admission 1s. 6d. 3d. We began almost punctually at 7.30 and closed at 10 though the first part, without encores, went off so quickly that Harry and Frank were quite unnecessarily alarmed lest all should be over by 9.
£1. 13 was taken at the doors and was appropriated to the Church Repairs Fund.

Mrs Mortimore is Hetty Harris, one of the daughters of William Harris, butcher. Miss Lee is one of the teachers at the Friends’ School, so are Mr Bland, B. A. Durham and Mr Kaye.
