Diary of Rev Edward Stevens

1886, November 15, Monday

Visited Jon Lamb and George Green. I spoke rather severely to the latter about his bad conduct in the School room on rent night. I should not have been severe with him, but he seemed at first when I spoke to him to be inclined to brave it out.

1886, November 16, Tuesday

Coal distribution commenced today, supplied by Welford of Aynhoe and Banbury.

I went to London and put up at “National Church Club” New Bond Street.

Received note from Mr Norris telling me that Elijah Hancox’s wife had called on him for the account due for butter etc.

Mr Norris’s note is pasted in the diary at 13 November.
