Diary of Rev Edward Stevens

1881, December 9, Friday

Harry returned to Oxford for his “Viva Voce” which is to come on tomorrow. Vere driving him with Bell and Rosa to Banbury.

Mr and Mrs Woolgrove and Mr and Mrs Turner my Churchwardens and their wives came by invitation to supper with the view of settling up the Church Accounts to Easter last. But Mr Woolgrove had not brought them with him – he had not finished his collection as he had been very busy over Mr Hithcox’s affairs.
