Diary of Rev Edward Stevens

1878, October 9, Wednesday

Mr R Lamb’s eldest son called this morning about the Temperance tea. He brought large notices which he had written – and at my suggestion he added at the foot of each “The Vicar will take the Chair”.

Went to Oxford accompanied by Mr Montagu of Epwell to attend Diocesan Conference in the Sheldonian Theatre. Staid at Rev Wilson’s.

Received letter from Rev C Hole. Wrote to Mrs Gordon c/o Rev Dr Lamb or Mrs Lamb, Sydney, N.S.W.

Very wet in Oxford. Called on Hughes and Heath.
