Anniversary Service
Sunday, June 1st at 6pm

This will be an Anniversary. and Celebratory Service and, sadly, the last service in this place.

The membership has dwindled to a point when it is no longer viable or constitutionally valid.

The building itself has suffered through the rising damp of last Autumn, there being no damp course and little depth of foundations. This would necessitate monumental repair and the building does not warrant this.

You are welcome to join us on this occasion.

Were you living in Sibford in 1956? Did you know that the late Sir Chris Chataway came here with a a BBC team to film the first of a series ‘Away from it all’? Do you have any relatives who may have been interviewed by Sir Chris, and did you have anything to do with the production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ at the Manor House?

On May 15th the Sibfords Society will be holding an exclusive showing of this rare film, found in the BBC archives This will be followed by a talk on his boyhood in Sibford by one of the Manor House actors. There will be a chance to view photographs and to chat about old times. We hope to see you and everyone who is interested in extremely local history there!

Village Hall; Doors open 7.45 p.m. for an 8.00 p.m. start. Non-members welcome: £2 only

Refreshments available, for which a small donation would be appreciated.

There is an opportunity to provide a small number of allotments within a proposed small housing development in Sibford Ferris. An Allotment Group would need to be formed to run and manage the area within guidelines agreed with the 2 Parish Councils. We would like to hear from you if you are interested to have this rare, local chance to grow your own fruit and vegetables.

Please contact either the Gower Parish Clerk or the Ferris Parish Clerk to register your interest. Names will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis so don’t delay as we can only progress the project if we have firm interest.
