In Tokyo, the Shibatas routinely turn to petty thieving to make ends meet; but despite their poverty, when they happen upon a little girl after one of their shoplifting sessions, they decide to take her in. Shoplifters is a rich and satisfying film that will challenge stereotypes and win hearts in equal measure.
