This true story followes a 5 year old boy “Saroo” who lives in the area around Khandwa, in India in the 80s. Having stumbled onto a decommissioned train to sleep, before he knew it was speeding towards Calcutta. Lost and alone, with no papers or family name, he becomes a lost cause, shunted around the barely existent social welfare system. Eventually he is sent to Tasmania to foster parents, played by Nicloe Kidman and David Wenham. Saroo grows up having a comfortable life, but memories of his early years haunt him.

Also stars Dev Patel, Rooney Mara and Priyanka Bose .Running time 129 minutes.
