Christmas Day. The church is very nicely decorated by Miss Shelswell, Mrs Milburn and others.

A very quiet and somewhat sad day for us. Poor Rosa being in bed and Harry away, having gone in a not very filial spirit without any consultation with me or apology for leaving home.
