(June 1990) John Loggins Charity
In past years, at around Christmas-time, the trustees of the charity have been in the habit of making small donations to older residents of the villages. This year, however, a change has been decided upon.
Previously, the churchwardens and Rector have decided who ought to be in receipt of the small sums: now we invite deserving recipients to make a claim, briefly stating why they should receive support in this way. We do not want to stop paying people: but we are anxious that those in real need ought to be helped. The older residents may sometimes be as well off as some younger residents with problems. If you would like to apply, then let the Rector have a letter of application: from our side we shall treat the matter as quite confidential: we invite you who received monies to do so too.
