Sibford Environmental Forum

The Sibford Environmental Forum (SEF) aims to bring together village people with experience and interest in energy efficiency through renewable technologies in the home, and to develop expertise and practical projects of use to others and the community as a whole.

This is an open initiative, and we are keen to hear from anyone interested in learning more or willing to share their knowledge and develop it further. More than 50 people attended the first SEF meeting at the Village Hall on 14 January 2025, encouraging us to begin a feasibility study for introducing an electric car club, and create a knowledge base on solar and battery installations.

The second meeting on 26 June heard presentations from Oxfordshire County Council, Metis (Smart metering) and GivEnergy (battery manufacturer), experts on the benefits of solar and battery installations in the home, and the ways by which householders can avoid upfront and maintenance costs through a subscription service.
