(June 1999) Editor’s Antique Hunt Ends in Success
I wish to thank the several villagers who responded to my plea for an Amstrad word processor to replace my antique model which had suddenly seized up.
A slightly superior machine was persuaded to stay awake long enough to produce the April/May edition but was then put gently back into semi-retirement. Many thanks, Roger.
In the end, Michael Wollerton of Sibford School very kindly donated a machine, an enhanced version of my deceased model which has, so far, behaved itself – although most of the “enhancements” still remain a mystery to me!
So, with any luck, I can delay, for a few more years, before plunging into the white-hot technology of the 1990s.
