Gave Webb a holiday to go to Oxford to see his brothers. Gave him railway fare there and back.

Visited Widow H. Sabin, whose boy is a little better.

Visited Thomas Henry Tarver, Cakebread, Dyer.

Post Office opened at Inns’s.

Taught in Sunday School this morning.

Mr and Mrs Elley back.

Storm of Thunder and Lightning with extremely heavy rain at noon.

Drove Bell to Banbury, met and brought out Webb and Frank.

Attended Quarterly Meeting of the Benefit Club. Full attendance of members. John Sabin was there to answer questions as to frauds said to have been perpetrated by his wife. His answers seemed to show complicity on his part.

Unwell with headache and giddiness.

Mr and Mrs Davies came this afternoon. Mr D stayed to tea. he and I went for a walk in evening and got caught in heavy shower.

Better today, but shaky.

Mr and Mrs Rugg came on a brief visit on their way from Birmingham to London. They came in a cab from Banbury. Rosa, in her wheel chair, met them near Mrs Turner’s.

The Flower Show was held at Tadmarton this afternoon in a field lent by Mr McDermot the Squire. I sent Webb to drive Bell, Mrs Davies and Frank. Mr and Mrs Davies here to tea.

Visited William Henry Sabin whom I found somewhat better.

Cloudy and cold, with rain in afternoon.

Mr and Mrs Rugg left. Bell drove them in to the 1.19 train.

Mr Salmon, formerly Curate of Shutford was expected today on a short visit to the Misses Dix, but did not come.

Visited Mrs Turner.

Wet.

Mr Davies called this evening, and I walked with him to Epwell.

Mr Daniel Shelswell called this evening to ask me to publish Banns of Marriage between him and Miss Marion Shelswell, of Burdrop.

Wet day.

We were invited to a garden party at Mrs Boulton’s Great Tew Park (mother in law of Mr Wynne, the Conservative candidate for the Northern Division of the County of Oxford) but the weather was too unsettled for us to venture.

Mr and Mrs Davies came to tea. Miss M. Dix called this evening. They had been expecting Mrs Elliott, wife of a former Vicar of Sibford to make a brief visit to them today, but she did not come.

I visited William Henry Sabin.

Offered up the Prayer for fine weather, much corn being still out.

Taught Boys this morning. Mrs Elley was there – Mr Elley away from home.

Published Banns of Marriage between Miss M Shelswell and Daniel Shelswell of Shenington.

Spoke in my sermon about the bad conduct of some young men in Church lately, especially going out during the service.

Miss Shelswell and her brother Harry were here to tea.

I visited William Henry Sabin and gave his mother a Horton Infirmary letter for him.
