Taught in Sunday School this morning and Choir this evening.
Visited Mr George Dix.
Drove to Banbury and brought Dr Hole out on a visit.
Mr Elley left for his holiday – goes to Brighton.
Drove Dr Hole and Edith Brookes to Compton Wynyates.
My injured right index finger very troublesome from injury in cricket field last Friday.
Walked with Dr Hole in evening.
Tea on lawn. Guests Rev G. Davies, Mrs Davies, Miss Brown, Rev Dr Hole, Rev J. Mozley, Mrs Mozley and a friend.
Dr Hole and I visited Mr Oddie. We also called on Dr Routh whom I wished to consult about my injured finger, but he was not at home.
Dr Hole and I walked to Swalcliffe and took tea with Mr and Mrs Davies – went for walk through the park in the evening.
Dr Hole left for Leighton Buzzard. I drove him to Banbury.
Mr and Mrs Fred Robertson from Swalcliffe called.
I visited Miss Dix.
Harry writes word that he had no money to come home with and to pay wages of the old woman who keeps house for him at Burdick. I sent him £2.
Bell and I visited Mr and Mrs Mann at Blenheim.
The Schools did not meet till 10 a.m. which I consider a mistake : owing to holidays.
Taught Boys in afternoon and Choir practice this evening.
St Bartholomew. Divine Service at 9.15.
Fine day.
Bell and I drove to Brailes. Saw Mr and Mrs Smith and Sophie.
Harry returned, having resigned his tutorship at Kentisbury, the salary being “too small”, £80 and furnished rooms. But he has to pay 3/- or 4/- per week to the old woman who waits on him.
I sent Webb in with the mare to fetch him from the station.
Paid for Sunday School Tea. There were 115 present. There was a great deal left and the cost was £1.15.8½.
