Diary of Rev Edward Stevens

1879, June 11, Wednesday

Excursion of Warwickshire Archaeological Society and Naturalists’ Field Club. Meeting at Blisworth. I drove Mr Smith of Brailes and Mr Maclean to Banbury. Mr Bradley and Mr Thoyts had gone on. The Archaeological Secretary was not present – the weather was very wet, and the day was almost entirely lost. We 5 visited Roade and Blisworth churches and St Mary’s Banbury, dining at the Red Lion to which we had telegraphed from Blisworth.
