Among the many local groups that make our villages thrive, the Town Estate Charity is unique—and the oldest. For over 400 years, it has maintained an endowment dedicated to supporting the village primary school.
Beyond education, the charity provides confidential support to residents facing hardship or distress—a quiet duty of care that remains as vital today as it was centuries ago. It also uses income generated from its property and land to fund a growing range of community grants and initiatives.
Trustee Nomination
Sibford Gower Parish Council is seeking expressions of interest from local residents to join the charity as a Parish Council nominee. This vacancy arises as Oswyn Murray steps down at the end of the year after dedicated service.
Who Should Apply?
Applicants must complete formal eligibility declarations, but initially, we simply ask for a short note outlining your connection to the village and the skills, knowledge, or experience you would bring.
While candidates with a legal or agricultural background would be particularly welcome, these skills are not essential. We encourage applications from anyone keen to contribute to the community.
