The National Garden Scheme writes “Six contrasting gardens comprising a truly traditional plants woman’s cottage garden; a woodland setting with shade garden; a private garden of a renowned landscape architect; an Artists garden with planting designed to inspire her works; new for 2024, Gowers Close a beautiful country garden using the natural gradient of divide the garden into different zones that draw your eye and encourage you to explore and the gardens; and lastly the gardens of an early C20 Arts and Crafts house. A fantastic collection bursting with bloom, structural intrigue, interesting planting and some rather unusual plants.”

Do come along and enjoy the gardens, support the NGS and its charities and enjoy some tea and delicious home-made cakes at the Village Vall in aid of Holy Trinity Church. You may also pick up some plants for your garden at the plant stall at Carter’s Yard.

Combined admission for all gardens: £7 per adult, children free. Cash or card.

Fundraising Record

The National Garden Scheme has been organising garden opening to raise funds for nursing and caring since 1927 and in that time has donated more than £50m to chosen beneficiaries. Currently the annual donations total £3m. More information on the NGS website.
