Horti visit – Claridge’s Barn
Claridges Barn extends over more than 3 acres of garden, wood and meadow. Situated on top of the Cotswolds, it enjoys beautiful views but is open to all weathers. There is a large vegetable, fruit and cutting garden, wildlife pond and five cedar greenhouses.
Address: Charlbury Rd, Chipping Norton, OX7 5XG
Directions: From Chipping Norton, take the Charlbury road B4026 (it forks left off the Burford Road just as you leave Chippy). After 3 miles take the unsignposted narrow road on the right which comes off at 90 degrees (not the earlier acute turn on the right) and go down 200metres and you will see a green sign ‘Claridges Barn’ on the right. Please park here on the verge. It is possible to go down the drive to drop off visitors with walking difficulties, but the owners would prefer if the driver would then also return to park their vehicle on the verge.
Meet at village hall at 1:55pm to car share. Drive time is about 20 – 25 minutes, visit begins at 2.30pm. Return to Sibford after tea.
Cost £11 includes garden entrance, introductory talk by the owner, tea and cake.
To secure your place please contact our treasurer Paul Harffey to confirm it. Contact him on 07841 011 403 or paul_harffey
