(August 2001) Commemorative Tree Planting

Sunday 23 September 3.30pm
EVERYONE INVITED

A simple ceremony will be held on the Pageant Site in the field below Greenacres as a lasting reminder of our community’s celebrations of the Millennium. In addition to the tree, there will be a suitably inscribed stone obelisk and a time capsule will be buried containing various items connected with the Millennium celebrations.

Mr and Mrs Hobson have planted a large number of trees on the site. A new footpath now connects with the existing footpaths from the Primary School and Buttslade House. When the trees have matured the path will make an attractive wooded walk.

Light refreshments will be served. There is no vehicle access to the site. Pedestrian access is via the footpaths described above.
