(October 1991) Sibford Gower Endowed Primary School

Everyone remembered to return to school on the right day (even the teachers!) and arrived fired with plenty of enthusiasm for this new term.

Year 5 and 6 were lucky enough to be invited to attend the opening of the Tithe Barn at Swalcliffe by H.R.H. the Duke of Gloucester on Tuesday, 10th September. Keys to this, the finest Oxfordshire barn, are to be kept at school for visiting educational establishments to collect. Our older children are to act as guides when required.

The juniors are studying the Tudor & Stuart period for topic work this term and are paying a visit to Stratford-on-Avon on Thursday, 19th September. They will be looking around Mary Arden’s house and Ann Hathaway’s cottage, and lunching in one of the gardens. We’ll tell you all about it in next month’s issue!

The whole school will be going to St. Anne’s Church, Epwell for their Harvest Festival on Wednesday, October 2nd.
