Rosebay Willowherb, by Caroline Huckvale (Age 7). I thought this flower was interesting and one day when I was photographing some muscari I used the same technique so I used it again to take the photograph of the rosebay willowherb. It is in me and my sister’s wildflower patch. Me and my sister sowed the seeds and took care of them.

Allium roseum - Rosy Garlic, by Colin Lamb. I chose to photograph the Rosy Garlic because the flower head is so beautiful and I was lucky enough to find one illuminated by the late afternoon sun with deep shadow behind it making a dramatic contrast.

Fern, by Colin Lamb. I chose to send in a picture of a fern frond unfurling because I find the structural change from a brown, hairy bump to a large green leaf so intriguing.

Anemone blanda (I think!), by Colin Lamb. These flowers were giving a nice early splash of colour in mid-March and it looked so beautiful when covered in raindrops that it was an obvious choice for Virtual Chelsea.
