Elley

Henry Elley (1838 – 1899) was headmaster of the Sibford Gower Endowed School (the primary school) for 25 years up to November 1889, when he resigned. His wife Louise (1829 – 1902) taught in the school and ran a lodging house. Mr Elly was postmaster from 1894/5.
