Charity Coffee Morning

Please join us at our coffee morning on Saturday 1st March from 10am to 12.30pm, raising funds for community and environmental projects in Cambodia. There will be Tea, Coffee, Cakes, Raffle, Cake sale.
James Morbey is holding this coffee morning at 8 Barley Close (with help from family!) to raise funds for a month-long expedition this summer to support community and environmental projects in Cambodia.
James has been fundraising for the last year, saving his earnings from his work as a waiter at The Wykham Arms and from providing gardening services to neighbours in Sibford Gower.
All money raised is going to the cost of projects in rural Cambodian communities. Cambodia remains one of the poorest countries in the world, with seasonal food shortages and lack of employment opportunities that leave rural people vulnerable to continued and increased poverty.
The types of community projects James will be involved in include building wells to provide drinking water and water for irrigation to ensure a reliable source of essential food. It may also include helping to build toilets, refurbishing community buildings and supporting schools. There are also environmental focused projects which could include reforestation and planting cash crops for the community that are both sustainable and provide an income to the local people.
Please do come along to support James’ coffee morning – all are welcome and there will be a selection of home baked cakes that you can wash down with a cup of tea or coffee.
