(February 1998) Sibford Millennium Pageant

A date for your diary

On Sunday 8 March all villagers are invited to join the Pageant’s chairman David Ryall and the committee from 3.30 – 5.00 pm at the Village Hall.

The objectives of the meeting:

  • David Ryall will give an update on the present position of the pageant preparations for June 2000.
  • Deborah Ryan – a research worker on pageants – will give a brief talk on Frank Lascelles, the eminent Pageant Master who lived all his life in the Gower and is the inspiration for the proposed pageant.
  • Your ideas will be welcomed and discussed.
  • There will be various displays including, most importantly, examples of the Millennium panels being produced by villagers under the guidance of Mollie Mulley.
  • There will be a cake stall, organised by Mollie, to raise funds for the panels.
  • Light refreshments will be available.

Everyone is welcome. You will not necessarily be expected to take part in, or assist with, the pageant -just come and find out more about it and, if you have any ideas, the committee would like to hear them.

It is hoped that those who have already volunteered their services will be able to come along to keep abreast of developments, and renew their commitment.
