We leave the Village Hall car park on foot or by car at 10 am sharp to do a circuit of approximately 2 hours. You are advised, therefore, to get to the village hall by 9.55 am latest.

Dogs are welcome provided that they are put on a lead when requested. Walking boots ( or wellies in wet weather) are recommended but not compulsory. Walking poles may also be beneficial. Some routes include stiles.

Local artist Nigel Fletcher's Spring Exhibition runs from 10th to 26th May this year, part of Oxfordshire Art Weeks.

This is a large exhibition of new mostly Plein Air (painted on the spot outside) paintings made during this past year. Oils and watercolours by this popular Oxfordhire artist. Previously exhibited with the R.O.I in London, Artist and Illustrators finalist. Singer and Freidlander Finalist and several well known galleries. Exhibition is open for 2 weeks from 10th to 26th May

Post Office news: Residents of the Gower will know by now that Mr Keyte has opened a Post Office and shop at Ivy Cottage, which ironically is situated immediately between the two former Post Offices. His early closing days will be Tuesday and Saturday afternoons.

129 years ago: Reverend Stevens's diary for Thu 13 February 1896

Fine but not bright. Drove Bell and Bess to Hook Norton. The latter returned to Cheltenham by the 3.48 pm train. The roads were so muddy and stony that I had the greatest difficulty in getting Ruby along. The labour of doing so, combined with the anxiety lest we should be too late for the train brought on me an attack of palpitation of the heart. My feet were intensely cold. So I went to bed as soon as I reached home, and having had it warmed, soon recovered.
